U of I Black History 研究 Lab
The Black History 研究 Lab opened in the Fall of 2021 based on the gracious support of the UI Presidential Fund on 多样性, 股本, and Inclusion Grant Program. The University of Idaho has an untold history of Black academics, 学生, 管理员, 教师, athletes and civic activism. The primary objective of this lab is to chronicle the contributions of Blacks at the University of Idaho. And its secondary objective is to facilitate research that centers Black excellence, 快乐, and thriving in the academy. The lab utilizes the steps of the Black Transformation Model to guide its activities.
The work of the lab will lead to:
- Developing a virtual/digital exhibit in partnership with the U of I library
- Creating a physical traveling exhibit
- Publishing peer-reviewed articles
- Presenting academic presentations on the topic
The lab also receives additional financial and resource support from UI’s College of Education, 健康, and Human 服务, the Digital Initiatives department and History department.
